QuantERA Call 2025 Results: 39 Projects Driving Future Quantum Technologies

With its continual strive for fostering cooperation within the European environment of quantum technologies, the QuantERA network is pleased to announce that 39 projects will benefit from funding under the QuantERA Call 2025. Congratulations to all laureates!

The QuantERA Call 2025, launched by 34 funding organisations from 29 countries, attracted over 1400 international research teams that submitted 287 proposals. After evaluation, 39 proposals have been recommended for funding totalling 53 M EUR.

196 successful research teams united in 39 projects consortia will cover two topics spanning the spectrum from fundamental quantum research to application-oriented development. The funded projects will investigate the variety of fascinating subjects, focused on next-generation quantum optical clocks, quantum internet technologies based on all-fibre entanglement distribution, as well as quantum imaging and diagnostic methods supporting, among others, tumour surgery and the development of peptide-based cancer vaccines.
Implementation of Call 2025 reaffirmed the critical role played by the QuantERA initiative in the European quantum ecosystem. Record numbers of proposals have been received in two call topics: 148 in Quantum Phenomena and Resources and 139 in Applied Quantum Science. These figures vividly illustrate the wealth of fresh ideas and concepts that quantum research community seeks to explore through transnational collaborations.

Thanks to the commitment of research funding organisations participating in the call and the substantial EU financial contribution, in total 39 of the highest-ranked proposals will be funded in both topics. The results of QuantERA-funded projects will undoubtedly strengthen European position in the global efforts to benefit from the second quantum revolution. – says prof. Konrad Banaszek, QuantERA Scientific Coordinator.
