QuantERA Call 2021 (closed)

Call Announcement 12.03.2021 (closed):

QuantERA Consortium is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals in Quantum Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies: QuantERA Co-funded Call 2021.

The submitted proposals are expected to be aligned with one of the two QuantERA cofunded call 2021 topics:

  • Quantum Phenomena and Resources (QPR)
  • Applied Quantum Science (AQS)

The call is currently ongoing, and selected proposals have been invited to the second stage.

Funded projects in both topics are expected to address one or more of the following areas:

  • Quantum communication
  • Quantum simulation
  • Quantum computation
  • Quantum information sciences
  • Quantum metrology sensing and imaging

Project consortia 
The project consortia must involve a minimum of 3 eligible partners requesting funding in at least 3 of the following participating countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey.

QuantERA aims at spreading research excellence throughout the whole European Research Area. Therefore, project consortia are encouraged to include partners from the widening countries participating in the call:
Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey.

Application and evaluation procedure
A two-stage application procedure (pre-proposals and full proposals) will be opened for consortia composed of researchers from at least three countries participating in QuantERA. It is Principal Investigator’s responsibility to should compile a single proposal and submit it via the Electronic Submission System (ESS):

Applied Quantum Science (AQS)

Please follow the link corresponding to the topic you chose for your proposal (QPR or AQS). Both topics have differences in terms of expectations from the applicants, in terms of evaluation criteria, and some differences in the participating funding organisations. These differences are detailed in the Announcement.

Webinar
An online webinar will be hosted by the QuantERA Coordinator and the Call Secretariat, aiming to answer the questions related to the call. This will take place on April 13th 2021, 13:00-15:00 CET. Please note that the webinar will be recorded. Registration to the event is required – please register your interest here.
