Agenda

Side Event: Lab Tours

Delve deeper into the practical aspects of quantum research through our exclusive Lab Tours. These tours are designed to provide an up-close look at the pioneering work being conducted in quantum technology laboratories.

Each tour is structured to accommodate small groups of 8–10 participants, ensuring a personalised and immersive experience. Be sure to register early for one of the six available time slots to secure your place. The Lab Tours will operate on a “first come, first served” basis. This is an exceptional chance to witness the cutting-edge quantum research in action while networking with fellow attendees.

Side Event: Quantum Amsterdam Experience

Explore the Quantum.Amsterdam Experience on 25 September and uncover the wonders of quantum technology. See a real quantum chip, learn about Schrödinger’s cat, and try hands-on activities guided by quantum experts.

No registration needed—just join us when it’s announced during the day!

Sessions

We are excited to announce that numerous distinguished guests and speakers will be joining our event. Please note that the list of speakers is continuously being updated.

Quantum and Society

Quantum for Society or Society for Quantum?

Is Quantum for Good? The panel addresses key questions such as: Which problems can we solve with quantum technology today? What might be possible in the future? What risks and opportunities lie in quantum-based applications?

It will also explore the idea of quantum technology learning from societal challenges. How can it contribute to addressing these issues? Are we targeting the right end-users? What are the most promising use cases?

Moderator: Benjamin Frisch, Knowledge Transfer Officer at the European Organization for Nuclear Research
Philipp Kammerlander, Open Quantum Institute
Clare Shelley-Egan, QDNL Center for Quantum and Society, TU Delft
Florence Quist, QuantERA, F.R.S-FNRS
Joe Westwood, QuantERA, UKRI/ESPRC

The Path to Quantum Commercialisation: Steady or Stony Road?

Where to Go from the Lab?

This opening panel explores the journey from fundamental research to technology transfer, focusing on how to create economic and societal impact. We will discuss the key factors that drive the advancement of quantum technologies and examine what is needed to effectively transition from research to market-oriented developments. What expectations are placed on researchers, and what support do they need to facilitate this process?

Moderator: Pieter de Witte, Quantum Delta NL
Thierry Botter, Executive Director at the European Quantum Industry Consortium
Kees Eijkel, Director of Business Development at QuTech
Joost van Heijden, QuantERA Project Coordinator, Quantum Machines
Anna Kamińska, QuantERA Project Coordinator, Creotech Instruments S.A.
Andrea G. Rodríguez, Lead at ImpaQT UA

Empowering Women in Quantum: Driving Diversity

What it Needs to Quest and Where?

Female participation is increasingly recognised as a key criterion in awarding research projects. However, supportive infrastructure for women in tech research remains lacking. This panel will explore how to improve these conditions, examining how universities can draw lessons from ecosystem programmes and how to design truly inclusive programmes that respect and support individuals.

Moderator: Caiseal Beardow, PhD Candidate & Creative Technologist, TU Delft
Elisabeth Giacobino, QuantERA Expert, Sorbonne University
Servaas Kokkelmans, Professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Director of the Center for Quantum Materials and Technology Eindhoven QT/e
Judith Kreukels, Advisor Equity, Diversity and Inclusion NWO-I & Head of Programmes Women in Quantum Developments
Zala Lenarčič, QuantERA Project Coordinator, Jožef Stefan Institute
Kirsten Stademann, Assistant Professor at the University of Twente

Host

Quantum Delta NL

Quantum Delta NL (QDNL), QuantERA Consortium Partner, is dedicated to advancing the field of quantum technology through fostering collaboration and innovation within the quantum ecosystem, bringing together academia, industry, and government organisations, promoting entrepreneurship, and creating a thriving quantum industry. QDNL connects people in the quantum field and beyond, providing opportunities to learn, collaborate, and achieve more together.

QDNL ecosystem is built around three catalyst programmes – quantum computing and simulation, national quantum network, and quantum sensing applications – and tied together with four action lines: research and innovation, quantum ecosystem, human capital, and societal impact.
